What a confusing book.
Confusing because of the twists and turns in the narrator’s mind. While reading, I kept asking myself, what is going on? Maybe that is part of the point. Narrator was confused. Heck, he was living split lives—of course he was confused.
That said, I’ll definitely need to reread this book to better understand what happened.
Inspired by Palahniuk’s minimalist writing style, I read more about him on his Wikipedia page. Cited on it is an interview he had with Jason Tanamor, during which he explained that he rewrites scenes hundreds of times before sending them out. That’s something I love about interviews: the sneak peeks we get into the creative process of artists we admire.

Overall, Fight Club struck me as a refreshing and fiercely honest take on the pointlessness of life. Highly recommend.
